Bendakaya Tomato Curry
Bendakaya Tomato Curry – Ladyfinger Tomato Recipe – Bhindi tomato curry.
Ingredients for Bendakaya Tomato Curry
250 gms Bhindi (okra) (wash, drain, wipe and chop to medium size pieces)
250 gms tomatoes (chopped)
1/2 tbsp mustard seeds,
1/2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera )
1/2 tbsp urad dal
1/2 tbsp chana dal
4 Red chilli
4 green chillies chopped
1 large onion finely chopped
4 to 5 garlic pods mashed or chopped finely
few curry leaves
few coriander leaves
1/4 tbsp red chilli powder
1/4 tbsp turmeric/ Haldi
1/4 tbsp coriander/dhania powder
1 teaspoon salt (as per taste)
3 tablespoon oil
Method for Bendakaya Tomato Curry
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, jeera seeds, chana dal and urad dal. When mustard seeds start spluttering add red chilli, mashed Garlic and curry leaves, and add chopped onions and green chillies. Fry until the onions become a light golden colour.
Now add turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Fry for a minute.
Now add chopped tomato pieces, mix well and close the Lid and cook in a medium flame for 5 minutes. Then mix and add chopped bhindi. mix well and close the Lid. cook in a medium flame for 10 minutes. Until the bhindi is cooked properly.

Then add red chilli powder and coriander powder. mix well and finely add few chopped coriander leaves. Switch off the flame and take the Bendakaya Tomato curry into a bowl.
Bendakaya Tomato Curry / Bhindi Tomato curry is ready.
Serve with rice or Rotis.
